Rebecca (Becky) Shonle 1968-2010
Former Bluffton resident Rebecca (Becky) Shonle, 42, died at her home in Beavercreek, Ohio, on Jan. 7, 2010, following a five-year battle with a brain tumor. Her husband, John, was the pastor at St. John's United Church of Christ in Bluffton from 1996 until 2001.
Other survivors include sons, Joseph, 15, Stephen, 13, and daughter Anna, 10. A memorial service was held in Centerville on Friday, Jan. 15, followed by another memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 16, in Moline, Illinois, where she had grown up.
In lieu of flowers, it was requested that gifts could be made to the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association, 1133 S. Edwin Moses Blvd, Suite 190, Dayton, OH 45408-2071, in honor of daughter Anna.
John and his children live at 1235 Freeman Avenue, Beavercreek, OH 45434.
