BFR launches early spring schedule March 1

Registration is now open for early spring programs at BFR (Bluffton Family
Recreation), according to Carole Enneking, director. Due to the wintery weather in February, some youth classeswill delay their start dates and last only 6 weeks instead of 7.

7-week classes

Seven week classes that begin the week of March 1 include: football skills
for grades K-2 (Tues. 3:30-4:30PM), basketball skills for grades K-3
(Thurs. 3:30-4:30PM) Swim Lessons (Thursday nights held at the Comfort
Inn)and dodgeball for grades K-8 (Fridays. 3:3-4:30PM). The Tuesday Youth Tennis program will begin the week of March 8 with limited space in the 3:15PM class. Students who were on the waiting list will be contacted
first to confirm a space.

Girls' volleyball

Girls in grades 4,5 and 6 who are interested in preparing for the Spring
Volleyball League are invited to a 5 week clinic to be held on Wednesdays,
3:30-4:30PM. The BFR Volleyball skills league will begin with an
assessment day on April 10 and continue with team scrimmages through May.

Cost for the league is $50 per player ($30 BFR members). Girls who attend
the volleyball clinic will receive a discount on league fees.

5-week soccer
Younger soccer players may ready for their outdoor season with a 5 week
sesson on U6 Soccer Fun. Children who turned 4 years by Dec. 1 and who
were under the age of 6 as of Aug. 1 are encouraged to participate. U6
Fun includes lots of activities that combine running and passing with a
soccer ball. The U6 Spring Soccer League will begin April 13, any players
interested must register by April 1st. Space is limited to 50 players, so
register early. Cost for the U6 league is $30 ($15 for BFR members).

Tiny Tots

Tiny Tots has limited openings for the Wednesday morning (10AM) session.
Tiny Tots features a blend of stations and group activities for children
ages 18 months to 3 years. All Sports, an introduction to sport skills,
will meet on Wednesdays at 11AM. Both Tiny Tots and All Sports will begin the week of March 1 and continue for 7 weeks.

Adult Fitness
Adult Fitness Classes continue to meet at BFR. As usual, BFR fitness
classes do not require registration and new participants may start at any
time. New participants are welcome to try out any BFR class without fees
the first time of attendance.

Try out the TBC (Total Body Conditioning) class any or all mornings (Monday through Friday) at 7:30AM. TBC includes a group training environment with running, body resistance exercises, and weight training. Morning options include All Start Workouts on Monday and Wednesdays (8:30AM), Low Impact Aerobics (Mondays at 10AM), Water Exercise II on Monday nights (6PM).

Tuesday nights at 7PM, Cardio Sculpt is offered and Yoga Fit is scheduled at the Bluffton Richland Library at 6:30PM. Thursday mornings features Strength and Flexibility at 10AM and Zumba Dance Aerobics at 6PM. Yoga Fit is offered on Friday mornings at 8:30AM. Water Exercise I meets at Maple Crest on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30AM and Level II meets on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30AM.

Saturday Aerobics meets at 9AM and features a blend of instructors and styles. Due to basketball tournaments held at BFR, no Saturday classes will be held on March 6 and March 27. Cost for BFR classes continue to be $5 per visit ($3 BFR members) or purchase an Any Class Card for additional savings.
