Bluffton Writers' Group meets Sept. 13 at Maple Crest

The Bluffton Writers' Group will hold its first meeting of 2010-11, according to Ruth Naylor of the Group. The meeting is at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, at Maple Crest, Augsburger Road. Members will continue to meet from September through May 2011 on the second Monday of each month at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest. Persons wanting more information may contact Naylor. Ron Friesen talks "toys" at the library Sept. 20

Ron Friesen will present a program about vintage 1930s-era toys at Bluffton Public Library on Monday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. Participants are invited to bring their favorite toys to share.

A special event prize drawing will also be held, with the winner receiving four tickets to the Ohio Northern University Freed Center production of Knuffle Bunny.

Wine, food pairing events at The Inn at ONU this fall

Wine Trends/The Inn at Ohio Northern University will be offering special wine and food pairings this fall. Dates for the events are as follows:

  • Saturday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m.

Guests will enjoy an evening of wine and gourmet food in a relaxed and beautiful setting. The wine tasting and food pairing event is $40 per person, plus taxes and 20% gratuity. Advance reservation and credit card confirmation is required.
