Jeff and Marlyce Gundy perform on Aug. 11

This week's Music in the Alley features Jeff and Marlyce Gundy. They will be performing from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Their genre includes Folk, Americana, and a little Rock. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Pirate linksters 4th at season-opening Bluffton Invite

The host Bluffton golf team teed off the 2021 season by finishing fourth at the eight-team Pirate Invitational Friday.

Ottoville captured the team crown at the Bluffton Golf Course with a score of 319, 18 strokes ahead of second-place Upper Sandusky (337).

Columbus Grove took third (347), while Bluffton totaled 358 atrokes. Pandora-Gilboa finished fifth with a score of 367.

Relay for Life planned for August 20

The Bluffton Relay for Life will be held on August 20 at Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The schedule of events includes a survivor meal, silent auction, pie auction, games for kids, and more.

National Night Out ends with a bang

School supply drive held through Aug. 15

Every year the Bluffton Community Assistance Program completes a school supply handout to those in the community that need it or could use it.

The Bluffton Community Assistance Program is asking for the public's help by donating any new school supplies. The deadline to donate is Sunday, August 15. Items will be collected, sorted, and handed out on Saturday, August 21.

Wilda Stauffer Schrag was Director of Nursing at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community

Wilda Stauffer Schrag was born March 4, 1922 in Milford, NB, to Henry and Sophie (Zimmerman) Stauffer. She died on Monday August 2,2021 at the Ebied Hospice Residence in Toledo, nine days after suffering a stroke. She resided at Maple Crest in Bluffton since September of 2019. Wilda moved from Kansas to Bluffton in order to live near her daughter, a granddaughter and three grandchildren.

Wilda and David were married on November 7, 1945. Her husband David died April 15, 2005. Wilda’s eight sibling preceded her in death.
