June 17 Festival of Wheels: Relax and enjoy

The Bluffton Lions Club Festival of Wheels is presenting its 54th annual Festival of Wheels Cruise-In on Friday, June 17. The car, truck, tractor, golf cart, fire engine, motorcycle and Cushman show takes place right down Main and Cherry Streets, which are closed to traffic.

The show attracts serious enthusiasts and those who simply dream of driving down the road in something more glamorous that the family minivan or grocery toter.

An 8-minute survey for village 20-year plan

Want to to help shape how Bluffton will grow through the next 20 years?

The Village of Bluffton is creating a Comprehensive Plan with the input of the Bluffton community and its leaders.

A new village survey takes just about eight minutes to complete online HERE.

To complete the survey in person, visit Bluffton Town Hall at 154 N. Main St. during business hours, 9:00 a.m.-noon and 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Nancy Sue Steiner owned and operated Modern Cleaners

Nancy Sue Steiner, 86, passed away June 15, 2022 at the Hilty Memorial Home.  Nancy was born May 18, 1936 in Lima to the late Mack and Florence (Reichenbach) Andrews. On July 29, 1956 she married David "Pete" Steiner who preceded her in death on February 24, 2013.

UPDATE; This event has been postoned due to the heat advisory on June 15.

Roots by Strattons, 111 S. Main has announced:

The Usual Suspects will be playing in the alley on [TBA]. Jonah Agner, the owner of Greenhorn, will provide food for purchase. 

Bring a lawn chair, grab a coffee from the Twisted Whisk Cafe or popcorn from Shirley's Popcorn. We hope to see you there!

Library is a cool place to hang out, charge up

With temperatures racing towards 90 degrees before noon on June 15, the Bluffton Public Library is reminding the public that it's--literally (really literally)--a cool place to hang out.

The library has air conditioning, comfortable seating, free WiFi, public computers, board games and power strips for charging devices.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the area, which remains in effect until midnight.

Swiss Day to be celebrated June 19

After a two year wait, the Swiss Community Historical Society is inviting members to the annual Swiss Day at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday June 19 at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

Individuals can renew their membership or join the society at the meeting.

There will be a carry-in meal and annual business meeting. Attendees should bring their own meal service and food to share. (This is different from past years, when one cold and one hot dish was requested.)

The invitation reads: "Everyone is invited, young and old! Enjoy an old fashioned pot-luck style meal."
