Local students named to Bluffton University spring 2022 dean’s list

Bluffton University has announced the dean’s list for undergraduate students for the spring 2022 term.

Students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher are eligible for the dean’s list. Bluffton University students from this area named to the dean’s list are:

Wenger-Williams engagement

It is with great pride that Edgar and Lisa Wenger of Bluffton, Ohio and Brian and Vicki Williams of Estero, Florida announce the upcoming wedding of their children, Julia Mae Wenger and Lindzey Page Williams. 

Julia was born and raised in Bluffton while Lindzey grew up in Cincinnati. They met attending Xavier University from 2009 to 2013 and earned degrees in Nursing and Sociology, respectively. After completing undergraduate work, Lindzey went on to earn her MBA from their Alma mater in 2015.   Julia is a registered nurse and Lindzey is a Social Worker.

Jurassic movie products, dinosaur-themed scavenger hunt

The new film Jurassic World Dominion doesn’t open at area theaters until June 10 but you can purchase film-themed products today at Bluffton’s Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main.

Ten Thousand Villages is the exclusive retail launch partner for the Jurassic World x Accompany collection and Bluffton is one of 49 such stores in the United States. The mission-driven, fair trade collection includes homewares and accessories for adults and children, all handcrafted by artisan non-profits in India and Nepal.

Memorial Day speech, Memorial Day response

I attended Bluffton’s 2022 Memorial Day services at Maple Grove Cemetery as the Bluffton Icon, camera in hand. It’s hard to cover an event as a reporter and photographer, so I wasn’t taking notes or recording what transpired. And when the guest speaker began commentary that focused on religion and politics, I counted myself lucky that those are topics I consider off-limits for this website.
