Oct. 23 BCE brown bag workshop answers your questions

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) will host a Brown Bag Discussion at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 23, on the topic of building permits in the village of Bluffton.
Jesse Blackburn of the Village of Bluffton and Michael Rudey of the Wood County inspection department will answer questions about working on commercial buildings. The event is located on the third floor of Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.
The BCE hosts casual, small group gatherings on topics of interest to emerging and small businesses. They are scheduled to fit in the busy schedules of entrepreneurs.

DELPHOS - Bluffton won the boys and girls soccer Northwest Conference Player and Coach of the Year awards at the recent league meeting in voting conducted by the coaches.
Lady Pirate senior Kayla White was voted the 2019 Northwest Conference Player of the Year by the coaches.
Bluffton girls soccer mentor Jared Byers was selected NWC Coach of the Year in voting by his peers.
Junior Taylor Schwab was named second team; sophomore setter Skyler Scoles

DELPHOS - Bluffton sophomore hitter Kylie Stackhouse was named first team All-Northwest Conference in voting by league coaches conducted recently at their annual meeting in Delphos.
The athletic Stackhouse led the Lady Pirates in kills and blocks. Bluffton finished 4-4 (tied for fourth) in the nine-team NWC and is 12-11 overall heading into the sectional finals.
Versatile Pirate junior Taylor Schwab was named second team all-conference. Schwab finished second for Bluffton in kills and digs.

Village hosts meeting with Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission

Members of the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission and the Village of Bluffton will meet at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, on the first floor of the town hall, 154 N. Main St., according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.
He told The Icon that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Transportation Improvements Program (TIP).
On March 2015, the village passed a resolution in support of the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission to serve as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the county.
