Cairo-Rockport United Methodist churches perform Easter cantata
The Cairo and Rockport United Methodist churches will present three performances of "Arise!" an Easter cantata, according the Rev. Richard Rakay, pastor.
Performances are at 7 p.m., Friday, March 26; 7 p.m., Saturday, March 27; and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28, at the Cairo Community Center, which is the old school gym.
"The Center is transformed into ancient Israel where we witness the birth of Jesus, several miracles, and the Easter story," said Rev. Rakay.
Using local talent, actors portray the events as vocalists sing in the background to tell the story. This is the 16th annual performance of the Cairo and Rockport United Methodist churches Easter cantata.
All performances are open to the public with no admission charge.
