Groves Bears will reopen Monday in former Movie Gallery
Groves Bears will relocate in the former Movie Gallery building at the corner of Jefferson and Vance Street, according to Robin Wilch of the Main Street business.
Originally, the shop planned to relocated in another Main Street storefront.
"We signed the lease on March 26 and took possession of the building on March 29," said Wilch. "The space is huge with wonderful lighting, customer parking and many other features that will accommodate our needs."
Wilch said that the owner of the building, Brian J. Gehrki of G-Zero Properties, LLC, Hot Springs, Ark., was extremely perceptive and realized the urgency for Groves to reopen for walk-in sales.
"We have been closed for in-store sales since Feb. 18," said Wilch. "Any retailer knows the significance in retrieving walk-in business as soon as you possibly can. The majority of sales in retail are from your showroom floor."
Wilch invites customers to visit the shop as soon as it opens next week.
"Please feel free to stop in as early as Monday (April 5)," she said. We'll be there. We may not be completed unpacked, but we don't care. Our goal is to open up for business, regardless."
Once repairs to the Main Street Groves building are completed, the shop will relocated to Main Street. That is anticipated to be late July.
