G. Louise Drury 1921-2021

G. Louise Drury, 99, of Sebring, Florida and formerly of Bluffton passed away July 23, 2021 at her residence in Sebring, Florida. Louise was born December 30, 1921 in Burnet, Texas to the late Lester and Ethel (Ruggley) Durck. On May 21, 1938 she married Jason Lyle Drury who preceded her in death on June 26, 1999.

Louise was a homemaker and also had worked at Ward's Department Store in Lima. She was a member of the Sebring Church of the Nazarene in Sebring, Florida. Louise enjoyed crocheting, knitting and painting.

Celebration of Life for Doris E. Palte

A Celebration of Life for Doris E. Palte will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at her son, Steve Palte's residence, 7905 N. Phillips Road, Bluffton.

Doris passed away April 27, 2020. Arrangements were entrusted with Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Alexandra Besecker named to spring 2021 Dean's List at Hofstra University

Alexandra Besecker of Bluffton, OH excelled during the Spring 2021 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List.

U.S. 30 construction project estimated to begin August 2

U.S. 30 west of the Interstate 75 interchange will have lane restrictions and road closures for a project to construct a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) at Thayer Road, and cul-de-sacs at Cool Road and Mayberry Road.

Thayer Road, Mayberry Road, and Cool Road at U.S. 30 will close August 2 for approximately 45 days.

Upon completion of the project, access to U.S. 30 at Cool Road and the southern leg of Mayberry Road will be removed.

United Week of Giving

The United Way of Greater Lima's second annual Week of Giving campaign is scheduled for July 25th – July 31st. The Week of Giving is a community-wide fundraiser to support many of the nonprofits that make a difference in our community each year.

For this year’s Week of Giving, the United Way is asking individuals to consider giving $21 in 2021 to help impact their favorite local non-profits.
