ERIE, Penn. - A stout defense carried the Bluffton University women's basketball team on a night when the Beavers struggled to put the biscuit in the basket. Bluffton outscored Waynesburg 21-11 in the final quarter for a come-from-behind 64-56 victory in the 2016-17 season opener on Friday, Nov. 18.

A combined Thanksgiving worship service with Pleasant View and Rawson New Hope United Methodist Churches is planned at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Mount Cory United Methodist Church, Mt. Cory.
Pastor Ben Lowell will be the speaker for the services. The services are open to the public.

The Bluffton Senior Center has received large donations of yarn and Christmas fabric which are now on sale.
The fabric is $2 a yard and the yarn is $2 and under per skein. The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays until Christmas 9 a.m. to noon. The center is closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24-25.

The show tunes and dance sequences of musical theatre are great forms of escape and entertainment, but those songs and movements are also filled with meaning.
2011 graduates and musicians, Sarah Diller and Brandon Fullenkamp, explained this when they returned to campus to present, “Changing the World through Artful Performance,” on Nov. 15 during Bluffton University’s weekly Forum.
They used examples from four musicals to explain how musical theater can be an agent for social change and conflict mediation
