Scott Edwards will perform an organ recital open to the public at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St., Bluffton. The recital also includes a hymn sing. The program is hosted by the church and Maple Crest.
The recital includes solo organ works, hymns with audience participation and a reception following the program.
Edwards is organist at English Lutheran Church and First United Methodist Church.

DEFIANCE - The Bluffton boys soccer team had four players receive All-Northwest district Div. III honors recently in voting conducted by area coaches.
• Senior Matt Daws and junior Jonathan Schriner were each named first team all-district.
• Pirate junior Simon Derstine was voted second team all-district.
• Sophomore Jude Spallinger was voted honorable mention all-district.

As the first session of winter indoor leagues is about to begin, Bluffton Family Recreation has some room of some last-minute entries, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator.
"We still have room for a team in the Friday evening U8 soccer division. We also have room for a 3rd and 4th grade team in the Saturday flag football division," she said.
"We also have openings for individuals on the U12 indoor soccer House team and the 3rd and 4th grade flag football house team."

With Bluffton's top five scorers returning after a trip to the Heartland Conference semi-finals, the men's basketball team is excited as the 2019-20 campaign is rapidly approaching.
The Beavers surprised the pundits with a 4th-place finish in the conference after coming in 7th when the pre-season poll was released.
Head Coach Guy Neal wrapped up 30 years at the helm and he is now looking forward to season 31 when the Beavers hit the hardwood in 2019-20.
2007 Bluffton graduate Jenna Liechty Martin will share “Why Living My Best Life Depends on You: Camp as a Place of Interconnection and Joy,” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
Martin is the executive director of Camp Friedenswald in Cassopolis, Mich. During Forum, Martin will discuss how serving at Camp Friedenswald has created an experience for her to form genuine community and connection, which is vital to living her best life.

Mary L. Barber, 95, died Nov. 12, 2019, at the Meadows of Delphos. Mary was born Dec. 31, 1923 in Lafayette to the late John and Lenna (Hefner) Hawk. On Feb. 8, 1947 she married Stanley Barber who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1989.
Mary was a homemaker and member of Beaverdam Church of Christ. She loved to play cards especially euchre and solitaire, square dancing, gardening, flowers, camping, spending time with her family and her parties in the shed.
