Dean Niswander

Dean Clair Niswander, 81, died at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 5, 2010, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

He was born Feb. 6, 1928 in Bluffton to Carey F. and Lulu Hilty Niswander, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Joanne Vercler, who survives.

Don't check the calendar. It's January. That means tax season is soon upon us. Bluffton Public Library is ready to help. Most of the common tax forms are already on display at the library and there are extra copies for persons who do their own taxes.

Ryan Lowry is the website developer for the Bluffton Icon and offers technological tips for Bluffton Icon viewers.

I get Bluffton's news delivered straight to my cell phone. I never miss a story. Part of this attachment may be due to my slightly higher level of involvement than the average viewer. However, knowing how to use some of the technology available can be a great thing. I'll start with Twitter.

We've never seen this plate before. Looks like a street address and the resident of the house has the initials WS. That's our best guess.

Want an advance tip on this year's Super Bowl? Plan on attending the 7:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 8, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast in the third floor of the town hall.

Dick Price and Joseph Allen (he's the father of Bluffton Middle School teacher Robin Ault) will present a program on the Wilson Football Museum located in Ada.
