Health Department: Schedule next school year's immunizations now
With the summer season in full swing, it is not too soon to begin school preparation for children. In the past the Allen County Health Department has offered weekly walk-in clinics for immunizations.
Immunizations are now given by appointment only. The Nursing Division of the Allen County Health Department remind parents and guardians of children who need immunizations for the upcoming school year to schedule their child an appointment early this summer season.
According to the health department: Immunizations are the best way to protect children against diseases, and by scheduling an appointment early this summer season, children will be protected and ready for school when the new school year begins.
Becky Dershem CNP, Director of Nursing, said, "We encourage parents to schedule appointments early so the start of the new school year is not delayed for their child."
