Maple Crest residents want to show you their hobbies July 14

More than 15 residents of Maple Crest will show hobbies to the public Thursday, July 14, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Patio Room at Maple Crest Senior Living Village in Bluffton.

The community is invited to Maple Crest, which is handicap accessible, to browse through the hobbies and collections of the residents.

Some residents may be present with their displays and can answer questions specific to their hobbies, others will be marked with descriptive information cards.

Here is a list of some of the residents and their hobbies that are participating:
o Dorothy Eastman - her husband Warren's woodwork and famous wax-dipped eggs
o Betty Cookson - crocheted afghan ("Mile a Minute"), made in 2007
o Richard Cookson - Tea Rose Quilt, made in 2005
o Russel Suter - puzzles made from wood over the past 20 years
o Claralice Wolf - writings, published and non-published, in binders and folders, from 1975-2011
o Carl Wolf - Mandala Art, from July 20, 2006
o Bob Bowersox - Tole Painting, 1969-1972
o Wanda Pannabecker - pillows, tulip wall hanging, quilts, from 1980-2008
o Genevieve Fast - Oil Paintings - originals and photographs of her originals -- from 1997-2008
o Helen Hilty - A needlepoint sign for her husband's business (Dentist Don Hilty)
o Marcile Suter - Marcile's Handicrafts from over the last 45 years
o Donnas Stone - Tole Paintings done in the late 1990's and early 2000's
o Helen Driver - Doll Collection, including her oldest doll from 1926
o Ruth Ayers - quilted pillows, and sheep collection, including her French-knotted sheep
o Marilyn Bullock - Knitted Work, including afghans and caps, from the past 30 years to the present
