A peaceful crowd of 400 or more walked silently through the village on Monday, remembering the live of George Floyd and others African Americans were killed in the United States as a result of racial injustice. Finishing on Main Street, several residents told their stories of of being a non-white in Bluffton. Others read names of African Americans recently killed in this country. CLICK HERE for a video. Lola Marlene Leiber, 82, died June 1, 2020 at her residence. Lola was born March 5, 1938, in Leipsic to the late Sylvester and Florence (Leatherman) Dangler. On March 9, 1956, she married Donald Leiber who preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2002.
Danielle Novak hopes to focus on linguistics research, perhaps specifically in neurolinguistics, exploring the relationship between language and the brain

As a Bluffton seventh grader Danielle Novak’s understanding of the English language was obvious.
She won the middle school spelling bee by correctly spelling “palliative,” which knocked out her final competitor.
“I really like learning languages,” says the 2020 Bluffton High School graduate.
This fall she will focus on linguistics, the scientific study of language.
