Pirates stop Allen East 3-0 for 27th consecutive NWC win

HARROD - The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team blanked rival Allen East 4-0 in Northwest Conference play Monday night at Goodwin Field in Harrod.
The unbeaten Pirates improved to 8-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the NWC with their 27th consecutive conference win. The Mustangs dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in league play with the defeat.
Senior Jonathan Schriner scored two goals, and teammate Jude Spallinger tallied the other two.
The program provides a nutritious daily meal for people in the Bluffton and Pandora communities who are no longer able to prepare their meal

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio will resume “Our Daily Bread” mobile meals delivers from Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton and Hilty Home in Pandora beginning Monday, Sept. 28, according to Jason Cox.
"The program provides a nutritious daily meal for people in the Bluffton and Pandora communities who are no longer able to prepare their meal," he said. "Delivery is available within 5 miles of Pandora and in the Bluffton village limits."

Riley Creek Arbor announces a free admission opportunity to Icon viewers who visit Suter’s corn maze from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, according to Gary Reese, of Faith Investment Services.
The event benefits the Bluffton Community Assistance Program’s food pantry. Free admission goes to any individual who provides two unexpired, non-perishable food items.
This offer is open to the first 200 persons to visit the corn maze on Sunday.
“Please check the expiration dates on your food donations become coming to the maze,” said Reese.

William “Bill” Duane Huff Jr., 81, of Bluffton, died Saturday morning in his home surrounded by his family. Bill was born April 9, 1939, in Akron to the late William Duane and Violet (Campbell) Huff, Sr.
In 1972, he married Carol Swift. In the 1980s, the Huffs moved to Bluffton and opened Springfield Fireworks.
