Sept. 29 workshop focus on health care in retirement

There is a lot of talk about saving enough money by the time of retirement to continue the lifestyle you know.

What is discussed far less is the need for health care in retirement and the costs that come with it. First National Bank will host a free health care workshop on Thursday, Sept. 29. The event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 1050 Interstate Drive, Findlay from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team welcomed the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears to the Sommer Center on a hot Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. The Beavers came out sluggishly as ONU dominated the first two sets for a quick 2-0 lead (25-13, 25-19).

Men's soccer drops home opener to Wittenberg

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team netted the equalizer less than two minutes into the second half, but a pair of late Wittenberg tallies spoiled the home opener for the Beavers on a hot and humid Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. The Tigers improved to 3-4 on the season, while Bluffton dipped to 2-4.

Noah Woodruff (senior) and Sarah Gillen (junior) are this year's Bluffton High School marching band field commanders. The band will perform for the second time this season at home during Friday's homecoming football game.

Football: Pirates ranked 12th in Region 24

Bluffton High School's football team is ranked 12th in Division VI, Region 24, in this week's Ohio High School Athletic Association football computer ratings.

Bluffton High School is in the midst of one of its most exciting weeks of the fall: Homecoming Week. Several events take place that are open to the public:

Wednesday bonfire

A homecoming pep rally bonfire takes place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the parking lot across from Harmon Field on East College Avenue.

Sponsored by the BHS Football Moms, the event includes introduction of the football team. The marching band and cheerleaders will lead the charge.
