School board names Ken Lugibihl to replace Dan Rumer

The Bluffton school board named Ken Lugibihl to replace Dan Rumer on the board during a special meeting held May 25.

Rumer resigned earlier this month for health reasons. Lugibihl will fill Rumer's seat for the next year and a half. If he chooses to seek election he will be running on the November 2011 general election ballot.

Lugibihl is owner of Lugibihl Auto and Truck Sales, State Route 103. He has served as president of the Bluffton Child Development Center board of directors. He also served on the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce board.

Pool open Sunday and Monday

The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will be open on Sunday and Monday, May 29-30 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Regular operating hours will start on Friday, June 4.

June is a busy month for the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association. Here are some of the activities planned:

June 4-5 - craft supply sale, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

June 17 - Coach trip to Cuyahoga Valley train trip
June 17 - Community meal, 6 p.m.
June 24 - Rescheduled bus trip to Creation Museum
June 29 - Bus trip to Der Dutchman

It's Vacation Bible School season

A Lotta Love Pet Rescue

Llamas and ponies weren't the only animals on Main Street during the May 22 arts and crafts fair. It also rained dogs and cats. Dave Baumgartner of A Lotta Love Pet Rescue explains the volunteer group's program to two arts and craft visitors. The Rescue had a display of animals at the festival.
