Police docket for October

Oct. 1 - Police responded to a S. Main St. business in response to a patron causing problems inside the business. 

Oct. 4

  • Police responded to a report of stolen property being found at an E. Elm St. residence.  A juvenile was arrested for receiving stolen property and the case is pending in Allen County Juvenile Court.   
  • A Matterhorn Dr. Resident reported receiving threats. 
  • A Cherry St. Resident reported to police that unknown persons had stolen prescription medicine from his residence. 

Oct. 5 - A Matterhorn Dr. resident reported that unknown persons caused damage to his vehicle while it was parked at his residence. 

Oct. 6 - Officers responded to the Bixel Rd area and assisted the Sheriff’s office in locating a reported missing elderly male.

Oct. 9 - Police responded to the intersection of Grove St. and College View Dr in response to a non-injury traffic crash.  Darrell Groman, 56, Bluffton was cited for a right of way violation and the case is pending in Bluffton Mayor’s Court. 

Oct.10 - Police arrested Debra Solce, 48, Beaverdam for OVI following a traffic crash at the intersection of S. Main St. and College Ave.  The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court. 

Oct. 11 - A University student came to the police department and reported unknown persons had stolen his credit cards from his dorm room while it was unoccupied. 

Oct. 14 - Police responded to Bluffton University in response to a reported attempted suicide. 

Oct. 15

  • Officers responded to Bluffton University in response to a theft of several items from a dorm room.
  • Officers responded to a N. Jackson St. residence in response to a domestic dispute. 
  • Officers responded to an injured deer in the roadway on County Line Road and put the deer down.   

Oct. 19

  • Police responded to a N. Main St. Business in response to a theft of gasoline.   
  • Police responded to an injury traffic crash in the 500 block of S. Main St.      

Oct. 20 - Officers arrested Anton Glynias, 21, Bay Village for OVI following a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Bentley Rd.  The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.  

Oct. 21 - Officers assisted the Sheriff’s Office in processing a county crime scene.  

Oct. 23 - Police took a telephone harassment complaint from Commerce Ln. business. 

Oct. 24

  • Officers responded to the Bentley Rd overpass on I-75 in response to a vehicle left unattended in the roadway and on the bridge. 
  • A N. Main St. business reported that a male entered the business and walked out with their tip jar. 

Oct. 25

  • A Cherry St. business reported a theft.
  • Police responded to a hit-skip traffic crash in the 100 block of S. Jackson St. 

Oct. 26 - Police responded to Bluffton University in response to a subject experiencing mental health problems.     

Oct. 27

  • Police arrested two juveniles from Gibsonburg for underage consumption following a traffic stop on I-75. 
  • A Columbus Grove resident reported that unknown persons entered his vehicle while it was parked at a Cherry St. business and stole a laptop computer from the vehicle. 

Oct.  29

  • Police investigated an alleged sexual assault at the University. 
  • Officers responded to a Lake St. residence in response to a child custody dispute. 

Oct. 30

  • Officers responded to a S. Main St. residence in response to an unruly juvenile.
  • An Eastland Dr. resident reported being assaulted while at a SR 103 Business.   

Oct. 31

  • Police responded to SR 103 business in response to an unwanted person at the business.
  • Officers took a telephone harassment complaint from a Snider Rd resident.
