Friday morning fire destroys one of three Ohio Northern University wind turbines

FROM ADA ICON -Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department was called to a wind turb fire reported at 4:31 a.m., Friday morning (March 26), according to the Ada police report.
The turbine at Klingler Road and County Road 50 is one of three on the Ohio Northern University campus.
According to Northern Review @NorthernOnLine, Klingler Road and part of the “Green Monster” (bike and pedestrian path) were temporarily blocked off as crews attempted to put out the blaze.
Service organization raises funds for programs the library can no longer fund

Friends of the Bluffton Public Library 2021 membership drive is underway, according to Deb Beer, Friends president.
The cost of a membership is only $5. According to Beer, the Friends now have over 40 members and hope for the number to increase.
“The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is a service organization,” she said. “Our main goal is raising money for the library programs that can no longer be funded by the library board due to cuts in state funding.

During Bluffton University’s annual Keeney Peace Lecture, Rev. Dr. Jack Sullivan Jr. called on members of the campus community to “courageously use their resources, platforms and privilege to disrupt and dismantle policies that discriminate and decimate.”
Sullivan, an ordained minister, executive director of the Ohio Council of Churches and anti-death penalty activist, shared the message during the March 9 Forum, “The Transformative Stardom of Ordinary People.”
St. Mary's Catholic Church youth fundraiser can bring the Easter Bunny to your house

The Easter Bunny will make a special visit to your house. It can happen any time from now to Saturday, April 3 – the day before Easter Sunday.
All you need to do it ask. The visit is a fundraiser by the St. Mary’s Catholic Church youth. Proceeds are used for summer camp.
The Bunny will hop to your house, deliver a goody bag and then you can take a photo of the Bunny with your family. All this for a $25 donation to the church youth group.
And, the Bunny’s range is to residences within a 10-mile radius of Bluffton.
Jon S. Troyer, 60, died at 3:23 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at The Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center surrounded by family.
Jon was born Oct. 27, 1960, in Lima, to the late Leonard and Betty (Sauder) Troyer. On July 27, 1985, he married Cheryl Ann (Phillips) Troyer.
Jon was a 1979 graduate of Elida High School. He grew up on a farm in Elida and was a life-long farmer. He and his brother Craig, owned and operated Troyer Brother's Farm. Jon also worked part-time at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center as a Surgical Tech.
