Charles H. Kinsinger was a retired Bluffton businessman
Charles H. Kinsinger, 92, of Pandora, died at 3:30 p.m. at Hilty Memorial Home on April 19, 2013. He was born on Dec. 15, 1920, in Pandora to John and Fatima (Steiner) Kinsinger. On Nov. 30, 1944 he married Treva J. Stauffer of Lima. She survives in Pandora.
Mr. Kinsinger was a lifelong resident of the Pandora/Bluffton area. His entrepreneurial spirit inspired the Gray and White Cream Station in Bluffton and later he and his wife co-owned Kinsinger Produce in Bluffton and later the Wheb Eggs in rural Findlay. He shipped produce to Youngstown, Pittsburgh and Cleveland. He also owned a farm located between Bluffton and Pandora. He retired in 1982. He was also active with Boy Scouts of America in Bluffton and was tapped for the Order of the Arrow.
He was a member of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton where he was a Sunday school superintendent and also served as a Sunday school teacher. He found great pleasure conducting Bible study at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.
He was a member of the Ottawa American Legion and a veteran of World War II.
He and his wife went on several mission tours including the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe and Haiti.
Survivors include a daughter Pauline (Michael) Edie Watts of Lima; three sons; Mark (Jane) Kinsinger of Pandora, Kent Kinsinger of Apalachicola, Fla., and Clair (Belle) Kinsinger of Mt. Cory.
Four grandsons: J. Paul (Julie) Edie of Clyde, Matt (Andrea) Kinsinger of Findlay; Mike (Teresa) Kinsinger of Pandora, and Jason (Tammy) Kinsinger also of Pandora.
Thirteen great grandchildren: Blythe, Paige, Grant and Brynn Kinsinger of Findlay; Kayla Edie of Wauseon and Eli Edie of Delphos; Makayla and Madison Kinsinger of Pandora, Troy Stevenson also of Pandora; Jacob Gerten of Leipsic; Aubrey, Kaylee and Ty Kinsinger of Pandora.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine, and a great granddaughter, Caitlin Edie, both of whom died in infancy.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, April 21, from 2-6 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. His funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, with visitation one hour prior to funeral service. Rev. Dick Potter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery.
