Man in custody in Family Dollar and Mustard Seed Cafe break-ins
Bluffton police were busy earlier this week as two businesses were broken into. The follow account is from Sgt. Matt Oglesbee of the police department:
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 29, Bluffton police officers responded to breaking and entering complaints at the Mustard Seed Café on North Main Street and the Family Dollar on Cherry Street.
Following a call from a witness, officers responded to Family Dollar to look for a subject who was seen attempting to gain entry to the business. When officers arrived on scene, they observed a male subject exit the building and run from the business. After a short foot chase, officers located the subject in the backyard of a neighboring residence. The male subject was subsequently arrested and transported to the Allen County Jail.
Later the same morning officers were called by an employee of the Mustard Seed Café who had arrived for work and found the business had been broken into. Officers responded and found that the business had sustained a considerable amount of damage done to the contents inside.
Both of these cases remain under investigation by the Bluffton Police Department.
