Tickets now on sale for Ebenezer Drama Ensemble dinner theatre
Ticket reservations are now available for the August dinner theatre production at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
From the authors of the hit series, "Uncle Phil’s Diner" comes a new interactive dinner theatre that brings on lots of laughs and colorful characters in Family Camp, Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 1 to 4 at the Crossroads Ministry Center of Bluffton’s Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
“Set in the late 1940’s, cast and audience are transported back to an old-school Christian campground where families have gone for generations. The evening of the play is the last night of camp, when it is revealed that the Dinsdales, long time owners of Camp Awannahilealotta, have to sell it due to financial troubles. The buyer, Frieda Abbott, has big plans to modernize everything by doing away with all outdoor camping activities,” said director Kevin Gratz.
The evening’s festivities of sketch comedy, music, improv and audience interaction culminates in the annual staff talent show, where the staff has a chance to share why they love the camp so much. All that’s left is to see if Abbott will be convinced to preserve the natural charm of Awannahikealotta for years to come.
The cast includes: Pat Bassett, John George, Mary Glick, Kevin Gratz, Sarah Lehman, Kaite Rhodes, Roger Rhodes, Amanda Rhonemus, Steve and Lynda Rodabaugh, Pat Rodabaugh, Brittany Sheehan, Meri Skilliter, Dan Stanowick, David Yoder and Kara Zink.
Tickets are $10 and include dinner and the show beginning at 6 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program again this year. Thanks to the community support, to date, over $4,800 has been given to assist those in need.
The Ebenezer Drama Ensemble has been presenting its biennial dinner theatre since 2001. The Crossroads Ministry Center is located at 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton.
