"Deck the Halls" 2013 Blaze of Lights theme
It's August, but not to0 early to think about decorating your yard for the holidays.
“Deck the Halls” is this year’s Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Blaze of Lights theme, according to members of the Blaze planning committee.
This year’s Blaze is Saturday, Nov. 30. Invitations are going in the mail later this week for Blaze parade entries. Junior Weihrauch of Arlington is again the parade director. A Blaze parade entry form is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
Several new events are in the planning stage for this year’s Blaze. Those events will be released soon.
Here’s this year’s Blaze schedule:
4 p.m. Ice sculpturer downtown
4 p.m. Parade line up on Snider Road
5 p.m. Blaze parade
6 p.m. Horse and wagon rides
6 p.m. Entertainment – schedule to be announced
7 p.m. Ream holiday folk art display lights turned on
Two lighting contests are planned, one for residential and one for downtown businesses. The contest will be based on the “Deck the Halls” theme.
A parade marshal and person who will turn on the Blaze lights will be selected this fall by the Village Cultural Affairs Committee.
