Heidelberg coach joins Beaver football staff
Bryan Moore was recently named the offensive coordinator at Bluffton University after a highly-successful six-year stint at Heidelberg University where he served as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach. He will handle the play-calling duties for an offense that returns senior wide receiver Donovan Brown who set a Bluffton single-season record with 10 touchdown grabs last season.
Moore helped direct a Heidelberg program that went 25-6 over the past three seasons, including an NCAA playoff berth after a 9-1 regular season in 2012. While at Heidelberg, Moore mentored a vast array of exceptional student-athletes, including wide receiver Mike Preston who signed as an undrafted free agent with the NFL's Tennessee Titans. The Ohio Athletic Conference honored Heidelberg with Special Teams Player of the Week recognition a conference-best eight times over a two-year period (2011-12) with Coach Moore calling the shots.
Prior to his time at Heidelberg, Moore served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Emory and Henry in 2006-07 after five years at Thomas More. Moore worked with current Heidelberg Head Coach Mike Hallet and Bluffton Head Coach Denny Dorrel at Thomas More, coaching quarterbacks, wide receivers and special teams while also handling the strength program for the Saints.
A two-time captain for the Terriers, Moore graduated from Hiram College in 1999 with an elementary education degree and special education certification. He served as a defensive line graduate assistant at his alma mater in 1999 following graduation.
Moore will reside in Bluffton and is married to the former Sheila Carpenter. Sheila and her three children, River, Skye and Landen, are natives of northern Kentucky. The couple also has a set of twins, Legend and Legacy, and a daughter, Honor.
