Dale Wilkins was a U.S. Navy veteran
Dale Edward Wilkins, 72, died July 26, 2015 at, his residence. He was born October 23, 1942, in Kenton. He was raised by his parents Lester and Virginia (Higgins) Wilkins who preceded him in death. On Jan.4, 2002 he married Karen Bowyer Wilkins and she survives.
He was a owner/operator of his own over-the-road semi. He was a member of the OOIDA Trucker's Association and VFW Post 1275, Lima. He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors also include three daughters Gail A. Wilkins of Elida, Tracy L. Wilkins of Columbus, Jodi K. (David H.) Topp of Sidney; and three grandchildren Tiahna L. Wilkins, Jessica A. Topp, and Joshua D. Topp
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Chaplain Dick Coon officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior's Project.
