Daniel DeLong was retired CEO and president of Triplett Corp.

Daniel J. DeLong, 64, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 12, 1952, in Schenectady, New York, to Jesse and Shirley DeLong who preceded him in death. On Nov. 6, 1971, he married Claudia J. Bowman, who survives.

Mr. DeLong retired as President and CEO of Triplett Corp. in Bluffton. He was also the Executive VP and CFO of Triplett for 10 years prior to becoming President.

He was previously the CFO of Electro-Metrics in Amsterdam, New York, CFO of Data-Tech in Santa Ana, California and had been Director of Corporate Acquisitions as well as Director of Internal Auditing and Budgeting for Penril Corp. Rockville, Maryland, prior to being transferred to Triplett Corp.

He was elected the first President of the Lima/Allen County workforce Policy Board, a previous member of the Business Management Advisory Committee of Rhoades State and previous member of various Allen County Chamber committees and member of Benevolent Order of Elks, Lima Lodge #54.

He was a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, John F. Kennedy Division, Schenectady, New York.

He was a member of St. Charles Parish, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, former member of the Finance Committee and a former volunteer with the St. Charles Youth Group. He attended colleges in New York and Bluffton College.

Survivors also include four daughters, Christina (David) Farrall of Batesville, Indiana, Meghan DeLong of Bradenton, Florida, Courtney (Steven) Bartel of Petoskey, Michigan, Dana (Christopher) Tuohy of Carlsbad, California, three grandchildren, Rider and Avan Bartel and Blake May Farrall, a brother, John (Bobbi) DeLong of Scotia, New York, and sister, Judie B. (Larry) Taft of Schenectady, New York, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 31 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church,  The Reverend Kent Kaufman will officiate.

Burial of cremated remains will follow the service in Gethsemani Cemetery..

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions be donated to Brent's Place, Aurora, Colorado, in honor of his grandson, Avan Bartel, (www.brentsplace.org).
