University challenge to raise $50,000 in 24 hours
Participants in the fifth annual Giving Tuesday—a global initiative to encourage charitable giving amid holiday consumerism—can, for the third year, direct their generosity to Bluffton University on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
During the Bluffton Day of Giving on Giving Tuesday, the university’s challenge is to raise $50,000 in 24 hours. When the challenge is met, an anonymous donor will add an additional $10,000 gift for a total of $60,000 in one day. All gifts, of any amount, are needed to accomplish the goal. Alumni are challenged to give an amount in honor of their graduation year. For example, $19.95, $199.50 or $1,995 from a 1995 graduate.
Go to www.bluffton.edu/givingtuesday to make a gift, and to check on Bluffton’s progress toward its goal, on Nov. 29. Participants are also encouraged to advocate for the university on social media that day.
