Bluffton police released the December-January police log, which follows:
December - Total calls for service – 260
December 1
- Officers arrested Lee M. Brodman, 32, Bluffton for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on North Main Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Officers responded to a State Route 103 business in reference to property damage complaint.
- Officers took a theft complaint that occurred while the victim was shopping at a South Main Street business.
December 3
- Officers responded to a possible medical emergency at a Commerce Lane business. Upon arrival, it was determined the female subject was in possession of illegal drugs and medical attention was not needed. Stephanie M. Cole, 26, Jackson Center, Ohio was arrested for possession of opiates and possession of drug instruments and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Hancock County Justice Center. The case is pending in Hancock County Common Pleas Court.

December 5
- Officers took an identity theft complaint from a Grove Street resident.
- Officers took a criminal damage report from a North Main Street resident.
December 8
- Officers arrested Daniel L. Williams, 40, Van Wert, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.
- Officers arrested Kendall R. Lott, 44, Lima, for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on South Main Street for a stop sign violation.
December 12
- A West Elm Street resident reported that she had money taken out of her purse.
- Officers responded to the area of County Line Road and Jefferson Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Ryan M. Matter, 21, Bluffton, was issued a citation for failure to maintain reasonable control.
December 13
- Officers responded to the intersection of Lawn Avenue and Elm Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Antony D. Kingsley, 18, Bluffton, was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
December 16
- Officers responded to the intersection of North Main Street and Washington Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash involving a car and a bicycle.
December 20
- Officers took a fraud report from a Harmon Road business.
- Officers arrested Charissa L. O’Connell, 27, Delphos, for OVI following an investigation into a motor vehicle crash that occurred on East College Avenue. Ms. O’Connell was also issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Officers responded to the 100 block of South Spring Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Wesley J. Nienberg, 27, Columbus Grove, was issued a citation for improper starting and backing.
- Officers responded to the area of the 400 block of Cherry Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Roger E. Augsburger, 47, Bluffton, was issued a citation for improper starting and backing.
December 21
- Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol who was in an active pursuit. Once in the area, a Bluffton Police officer successfully utilized Stop Sticks and assisted in bringing the pursuit to an end. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
December 22
- Officers responded to the 100 black of Vance Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash.
December 23
- Officers responded to the area of Riley Street and Spring Street in reference to a non-injury traffic crash. Rachel A. Schutz, 90, Pandora, was issued a citation for failure to obey a traffic control device.
December 24
- Officers, along with Allen County Sheriff deputies, responded to a South Jackson Street residence in reference to a subject who was threatening to commit suicide. Once under control, the subject was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.
December 27
- Officers responded to the high school during a basketball game in reference to a theft complaint.
December 28
- A Van Buren resident reported a theft complaint while meeting a subject at a State Route 103 business. The victim met a seller on a Facebook garage sale site and purchased an item from the seller only to find out the item was reported stolen.

- Police investigated a juvenile curfew complaint in the area of Bentley Road and South Main Street
January 3
- Police responded to a County Line Road business in reference to an unwanted guest.
- Police investigated a non-injury hit/skip traffic crash in the 300 block of South Main Street.
January 5
- Police arrested Raven Merschman, 26, Bluffton for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Jefferson Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Police investigated a non-injury traffic crash in the area of State Route 103 and Commerce Lane.
January 10
- Police arrested Tracy Snook, 36, Rawson, for driving under suspension following a traffic crash investigation in the area of North Lawn Avenue and West Elm Street. Ms. Snook was also cited for failing to yield the right of way. The cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.
January 11
- Police responded to a Railroad Street residence in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Officers arrested Amy J. Muniz, 40, Bluffton on domestic violence charges. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Police investigated a non-injury traffic crash in the area of Lincoln Way behind the businesses on South Main Street. Heather McDonald, 32, Bluffton was cited for improper starting and backing. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
- Police investigated a non-injury traffic crash on Interstate 75 a mile marker 141. Pooja V. Patel, 29, Fostoria was cited for operating without reasonable control.
January 13
- Two university students reported thefts from their dorm rooms while they were away.
- Police received a call from a South Jackson Street residence in reference to an unruly juvenile complaint.
January 16
- A Cherry Street resident reported items were stolen from inside his residence while he was away.
January 18
- Police responded to a Susan Drive residence in reference to a domestic dispute complaint. After investigating the complaint, officers decided to separate the involved parties for the night.
- Police investigated a non-injury traffic crash in the area of South Main Street at College Avenue. Princelliott Meredith, 53, Bedford, Ohio, was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
January 22
- Officers responded to the university in reference to a criminal damage complaint.
- A Grove Street resident reported items were stolen from inside his vehicle.
January 24
- A university student reported items were stolen from his dorm room while away from campus.
- A Susan Drive resident reported his girlfriend took his vehicle without his permission and left the state.
January 28
- Officers responded with Bluffton EMS to a North Main Street business where a male subject had overdosed on drugs. The male subject was transported to Bluffton Hospital by Bluffton EMS.
January 30
- Officers responded to an unwanted guest complaint at a North Main Street business.
