Susan Schlumbohm had served on the Putnam County Mental Health Board
Susan L. Schlumbohm, 60, died April 4, 2017, at the Lima Memorial Inpatient Hospice Unit. Sue was born July 25, 1956, in Glandorf, Ohio, to Gregory and Patricia (Schroeder) Hovest. On Sept. 23, 1978, she married John Schlumbohm who survives.
Sue graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School. Sue had worked at Marathon Oil in Findlay and Pandora Dry Goods. She was also an administrative assistant at her and John's businesses, Allco Interiors and S & S Properties. Sue was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton and the Glandorf St. John's CLC. She was a founding member of the Growing Pains of Promises Mother's Club in Pandora and had served on the Mental Health Board of Putnam County.
Survivors also include her mother, Patricia Hovest of Glandorf; a son, Ryan (Amy) Schlumbohm of Pandora; two daughters, Gina Schlumbohm and Becca Schlumbohm both of Pandora; three grandchildren, Anna, Johnny and Emma Schlumbohm; four brothers, Steve (Sandy) Hovest of Norwalk, Ohio, Allen (Maryellen) Hovest of Lexington, Kentucky, Brian (Rose) Hovest of Tallmadge, Ohio, Eric (Susie) Hovest of Dublin, Ohio; and a sister, Sharon (Dean) Mayhew of Glandorf.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Hovest.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton. Father John Stites officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton where a wake service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice or the Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program.
