Jay Bricker was a former Bluffton council member
Jay D. Bricker, 72, died April 23, 2017, at Willow Ridge surrounded by his family. Jay was born Nov. 6, 1944, in Lima, Ohio to Russell and Ruby Fern (Dorman) Bricker who preceded him in death. He married Pam (Morton) Bricker who survives.
Jay was a member of the United States Coast Guard for four years. Jay worked for Ex-Cello, Whirlpool Corporation, owned a furniture refinishing business and ended his career at Stratton Auto Sales.
He was a former member of the Lions Club and a member of the American Legion in Bluffton. He was also a former Bluffton council member.
Survivors include: a son, Tyler (Sarah) Bricker of Bluffton; a daughter-in-law, Tracie Bricker of Bluffton; five grandchildren, Austin Bricker, Dakota Bricker, Sophia Bricker, Noah Bricker, Thayne Bricker; two brothers, Mark Bricker of Easton, Pennsylvania, Gary (Vi) Bricker of Bluffton, and a sister, Joan (LaRee) Little of Lima.
Jay was preceded in death by; a son, Christopher Bricker and a sister, Gail Dunbar.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to The Bluffton Athletic Boosters.
