Otterbein stays unbeaten with 4-1 win over Women's Soccer
September 19, 2017
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team waited out an hour and 10 minute storm delay and then gave undefeated Otterbein University all it could handle for 60 minutes before the Cardinals pulled away on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017. Bluffton fell to 1-5 on the season while the visitors improved to 6-0-1 overall following the 4-1 victory.
Trailing 1-0 early in the second half, junior Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) netted the equalizer at the 50:06 mark. It was her third tally of the season and just the third goal that Otterbein had allowed in seven matches!
The Cardinals regained the lead 10 minutes later with a Bella Shivley goal and tacked on two more late scores for the 4-1 final.
Otterbein finished with a marked 32-3 edge in shots, while firing 10 more corner kicks (11-1). The visitors were also whistled for seven more fouls (10-3) and all seven offsides violations in the match.
Freshman keeper Jules Frazier (Nova/Mapleton) turned away 10 Otterbein shots in her first career start.
Bluffton is back at home on Friday, Sept. 22, when the Beavers welcome Huntington University for a 4 p.m. start. Come out and support your Beavers!
