Over $129,000 spent on sidewalk improvements since 2015
Since 2015 the village of Bluffton and property owners have spent over $129,000 toward improving “walkabity” in town.
That statement, from the Bluffton council streets, alleys, lights and sidewalks committee, shows the efforts made here in improving sidewalks.
The committee met Nov. 13 and provided a report during the Nov. 15 council meeting.
Here’s an overview:
• $52,710 spent in 2017 sidewalk connectivity plan - covering 2,107 linear feet
• 2018 sidewalk connectivity project calls for 10 projects ranging in costs from 10,800 to $107,250.
• 2018 proposed street maintenance schedule calls for 15 individual projects totaling an estimated $283,000.
• Looking toward 2019, six projects are on the drawing board with no estimates listed.
• Asphalt sealing projects totaling $43,799 are also listed on the report. Of that cost $17,819 is the village’s share and $25,399 is residential share.
