May Day Court - Taylor Aurand of Traverse City, Mich., and Jayden Groppi of Parma, Ohio, are crowned May Day Queen and King by last year’s royalty, Laura Galley and Andrew Hunter.
Milena King served as crown bearer. She is the daughter of Kevin and Alison (Luginbuhl) King, granddaughter of Karen Luginbuhl and the late Gregg Luginbuhl ’71 and great-granddaughter of the late Darvin ’46 and Evelyn (Johnson ’45) Luginbuhl.
Bluffton Pediatrics is now open in its new home at 122 N. Jackson St., across from the elementary school. An open house, originally set for May, has moved to Friday, June 14, according to Beth Bish. Watch the Icon for more details coming soon.
In observation of National Healthcare Decision Day, several Bluffton churches and Herb Walker, St. Rita’s Medical Center hospice chaplain, will lead an informational meeting Thursday, May 9, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Bluffton town hall.
Participants will learn more about advance directives and have opportunities to complete the required documents.
The free program will include several handouts and additional documents about advance directives.
On behalf of the Bluffton Schools Board of Education and the levy committee, I would like to thank you for your support of our two renewals on Tuesday, May 7.

Burger King, 499 State Route 103, closed its doors on Sunday and will not reopen. On Wednesday the signage from the Bluffton restaurant was being removed.
Tony Kropowski, Carrol’s district manager, confirmed the restaurant closed but did not provide the Icon with any additional information.
The restaurant owner, Carrols Corp., housed in Syracuse, New York, owns and operates over 1,000 restaurants under the Burger King brand, according to its website.
