BHS tennis team travels to Fostoria on Monday

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls tennis team lost to visiting Wapakoneta 5-0 on a warm Wednesday evening.

The defeat dropped the Lady Pirate record to 1-4. 

Bluffton senior Olivia Barnes lost a close second singles match in a third-set tiebreaker to 10 points, 10-5. She split the first two sets with senior Ellie Schroer of Wapak 6-4, 4-6.

The number two doubles duo of freshmen Caitlyn Couch and Brooke Camper also fought hard but dropped a third set tiebreak, 10-4.

The Pirate twosome split the first two sets against the Wapak junior tandem of Mara Stiles and Abby Metzger 6-2, 3-6.
 
Seniors Pearl Lewandowski and Julia Smallcombe fell in straght sets at third and first singles, respectively. The Bluffton junior duo of Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel also lost in two sets at first doubles.

Bluffton's next dual match is Monday, August 31 at Fostoria at 4:30 p.m.
