Volunteer opportunities at MHCO
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio offers the following volunteer opportunities this month. Persons interested may contact Chris Moser, [email protected], 419-358-1015 extension 263.
At Mennonite Memorial Home
Medical Transport drivers: (Licensed driver to take residents to Bluffton Lima Findlay area doctors’ appointments)
New Volunteers would join a list of 10 volunteer drivers who are contacted about medical transport needs during the week. Typically, drivers are given at least a weeks’ notice. Drivers typically use the MHCO handicap accessible van or 15 -passenger bus.
Bluffton Uptown shopping driver: (Licensed driver to take MMH residents shopping uptown Tuesday at 9:00 am)
Volunteers take residents shopping using the MMH 15-passanger bus. Trip usually takes a couple hours and makes 3-4 stops depending on interest of elders).
Inside activities:
Greet, screen and escort visitors to resident rooms for family visits
Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts (360 clinics & haircuts)
Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
Spring Cleaning - help pick up branches, yardwork
Fill bird feeders weekly
Power wash chairs and other items as needed
At Willow Ridge
Outside work:
Spring Cleaning - help pick up branches, yardwork
Fill bird feeders weekly
At Hilty Home
Inside activities:
Greet, screen and escort visitors to resident rooms for family visits
Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts (360 clinics & haircuts)
Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
Power wash chairs and other items as needed
Stain Gazebo
“Our Daily Bread Mobile Meals” Driver: We are looking for back up volunteer drivers willing to deliver meals in the Pandora area at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, or Fridays.
At Maple Crest
Inside activities:
Greet, screen and escort visitors to resident rooms for family visits
Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts (360 clinics & haircuts)
Bible Study Leader: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month via Zoom or in person at 3:00 pm: June and July.
Outside work:
Spring Cleaning - help pick up branches, yardwork
Fill bird feeders weekly
