FINDLAY - The Bluffton boys track and field team finished a strong second in the 13-team Div. III district meet finals Friday at Liberty-Benton.
Columbus Grove won the boys and girls team titles. CG captured the boys crown with 170 points, while Bluffton scored 102.5.
The Pirate girls finished eighth out of 16 teams with 40 points. Grove nosed out Kalida for the girls team crown.
Winning first-place for Bluffton were Brianna Tabler (pole vault), Simon Derstine (800), Erik Nygaard (3200), Eden Antrim (1600) and Jonathan Schriner (400).
A top four finish in an event qualifies an individual or relay team to regionals at Tiffin.
