8th annual Bluffton Ride to Remember is July 16
The Bluffton Lions Foundation will host the Eighth Annual Ride to Remember on Saturday, July 16. The event will be held as an in-person event but will also include an option to ride on your own time at any location.
“The town of Bluffton is excited to welcome riders to the 8th annual Ride to Remember. Join us for a tour of the beautiful northwest Ohio countryside,” said Travis Music, co-committee chair.
The ride will take cyclists through the Village of Bluffton, Ohio and the surrounding countryside. The first 225 registered riders to check-in will receive a cinch sack filled with items from local businesses and a lunch coupon. A commemorative T-shirt will be offered for purchase during registration.
At check-in, riders will receive maps for 3 route options:
- 11-mile Fun Loop
- the 37-mile Ada Loop
- 63-mile Main Loop with cut-offs for 23, 46 and 56 miles
Routes are on scenic, flat, paved roads and feature points of interest such as the Bluffton University Nature Preserve, Schumacher Swiss Homestead, and the villages of Ada, Lafayette, Gilboa, Pandora, Rockport and Rawson.
Proceeds from the ride will benefit the Bluffton Pathways Project. Mass starts are back this year with two being planned;
- 7 a.m. for riders doing the 100 mile ride
- 8 a.m. for other riders.
Riders can also start when they are ready.
Thanks, in part, to proceeds from the seven previous rides, the Bluffton Lions Way Pedestrian and Bike Pathway Project has completed paths that provide safe access to the Bluffton University Nature Preserve, Riverbend, Parkview, Riley Creek subdivisions, Magnolia Lane Condominiums, Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Buckeye Lake, Village Parks and restaurants and businesses on State Route 103. In all, Bluffton offers more than 9 miles of paved, crushed aggregate, mulched and natural trails.
The 2022 Ride to Remember is made possible through financial and service support from local businesses, individuals and organizations. This year’s premier sponsor is Mercy Health. Major sponsors are: Bike Crazy, Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Bluffton Icon-Ada Icon, Bluffton Family Recreation, Bluffton University, Community Markets, First National Bank, Lewis Family McDonald's, PromoHits, and Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn. Contributing sponsors are Citizens National Bank, GROB and Luke’s.
Online registration is available at www.ridetoremember.net. The commemorative T-shirt will be offered for purchase during registration.
