Bluffton music featured at body positivity art show in Lima
A juried, pop-up art gallery advocating for body positivity is coming to Lima. Sponsored by Wild Rose Photography LLC and the Council for the Arts of Greater Lima, the Every Body Art Show celebrates the human body in all it’s varied sizes, shapes, ages, skin tones and flaws.
The public is invited to an opening event from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at 516 North Main St. in Lima, OH.
The concept for this unique art show was inspired by the simple question asked by artist and organizer Amanda Rose: “Why are so many people scared of bodies?” She points out that our bodies are familiar; we live in them our whole lives. Human bodies have been around since the dawn of human history, and yet we are taught to be ashamed of them.
Wendy Chappell-Dick of Bluffton will be providing music throughout the grand opening, along with One in a Number Women’s Choir, which will perform songs of hope and empowerment at 6:00 p.m.
Gallery hours are from 4 -8 pm July 28, August 4 and August 11. Visitors are welcome to view at other times, by appointment through Wild Rose Photography LLC, (419) 230-5828.
