Richard J. Bucher was a farmer
MT. CORY, Ohio⎯Richard J. Bucher, 86, passed away July 20, 2022 at his residence. Richard was born November 7, 1935 in Bluffton to the late Roy and Ruth (Blough) Bucher. On April 22, 1955 he married Carol Frantz Bucher who survives.
Richard graduated from Bluffton High School and was a life-long farmer. He was a member at St. John's United Church of Christ in Bluffton where he served as a deacon and an elder. Richard loved big band music; he played trumpet in the Lima Symphony Orchestra and the Bluffton Community band, he sang at church and in the choir, and played in the St. John's Men's Quartet. Richard had served on the Cory-Rawson School Board for 12 years and on the Mt. Cory Volunteer Fire Department. Above all he was extremely devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard attended all of his family's sports games and concerts.
Survivors include his wife, Carol J. Bucher of Mount Cory; four sons, Dr. Rick (Julie) Bucher of Oxford, Ohio, Larry (Becky) Bucher of Mt. Cory, Timothy (Diana) Bucher of Findlay, Mark (Malinda) Bucher of New London, Ohio; his grandchildren, Bradley Bucher, Ashley (Jeff) Scoles, Kate (Darrell) Byrd, Byron (Andrea) Bucher, Sarah (Rob) Davis, Alise (Jason) Krempa, Brittany (Zeke) Flegel, Nathaneal Bell-Pacat, Brennyn Bell-Bucher; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Raeleen (Larry) Greenawalt of Findlay and a sister-in-law, Shirley Spaeth of Findlay.
Private graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery.
