MHCO Volunteer opportunities for Summer-Fall 2022
Mennonite Memorial Home, Willow Ridge, Hilty Home and Maple Crest
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio offers the following volunteer opportunities for Summer-Fall 2022. If you are interested in participating, contact Chris Moser at [email protected] or call 419-358-1015, extension 263.
At Mennonite Memorial Home
Medical Transport drivers: (Licensed driver to take residents to Bluffton, Lima, Findlay doctors’ appointments)
Volunteer drivers help take residents to appointments during the week using the MHCO handicap accessible van or 15 -passenger bus. (Help on the days you are available.)
Inside activities:
Play games with residents on 3rd. floor
Nail care salon weekly at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
Visit and sit with elders inside (or outside weather permitting in Sycamore garden, patio, etc.)
Lead Worship Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Help fold laundry (around 9:00 a.m.)
Pass out water (around 9:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.)
Outside work:
Weeding in Sycamore Garden memory care area and outside of resident living spaces.
At Willow Ridge
Inside activities:
Read, reminisce and sit with elders
Outdoor chats with residents
Nail care salon weekly at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
Play piano or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
Help with Spring clean-up and landscaping activities
Fill bird feeders weekly
At Hilty Home
Inside activities:
Lead Bible study (Tuesday and/or Thursday at 10:30 a.m.)
Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts
Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
Help with cleaning & landscaping activities
At Maple Crest
Inside activities:
Lead games and discussions with residents (Bingo and other)
Bible Study Leader: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month in person at 3:00 p.m.:
Lead worship one Sunday a month (open to flexible schedule)
Outside work:
Help with cleaning (repair/clean chairs and other items) & landscaping support
Support with indoor/outdoor resident events and activities (shopping and other)
