Pirate golfers win 3-school league match

The Bluffton High School golf team won a three-school Northwest Conference golf match Thursday, August 11 at the Bluffton Golf Course.

The Pirates easily finished first with 178 strokes, followed by a pair of Bulldog squads. Columbus Grove took second with a 193 total, while Ada came in a distant third (238).

Jaden Coonfare of Bluffton was match medalist with a nine-hole total of 41.

Aiden Sponsler posted a round of 45 to finish second for the Pirates. 

Eli Wenger, Logan Combs and Jacob Boisvert each carded a 46 for the closely-bunched Pirates.

Evan Speicher added a round of 51.

Bluffton improved to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in league play with the wins. Grove is 2-3 overall and 1-2 in NWC action. Ada fell to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the NWC with the results. 

Bluffton plays Riverdale and Calvary Christian Tuesday, August 16 at Sycamore Springs Golf Club.
