BHS girls soccer shuts out Cory with big 2nd half

The Bluffton girls soccer team scored all five of its goals in the second half to decisively defeat visiting local rival Cory-Rawson 5-0 Tuesday night.
The shutout non-league victory upped the Lady Pirate record to 13-2. It was Bluffton's seventh straight win since losing at Riverdale 1-0 on September 10.
Meanwhile, the Hornet girlss fell to 4-11-1 with the loss.
Pirate Karson Hauenstein netted the first goal 52 minutes into the fray on an assist from Sami Scoles.
Marley Kindle made it 2-0 five minutes later on a pass from Ella Armstrong.
In the 59th minute, Riley Eachus scored off a feed from Allison Diller.
Scoles then extended the lead to 4-0 on a Kendal Giesige assist.
Blair Utendorf tallied the fifth and final goal on a pass from Kindle in the 80th minute of play.
The Pirate girls targeted 16 of their 32 shots on goal. C-R got off just two shots, one of which was on goal.
Pirate goalkeeper Julia Mehaffie made one save, while Hornet keeper Madison Boehm stopped 11 shots in goal.
The Pirates finish the regular season Thursday, Oct. 13 at Upper Sandusky (6-4-3).
