Bluffton senior guard Sami Scoles was named first team All-Northwest Conference in voting recently conducted by the league basketball coaches.

The smart southpaw playmaker was a second team all-league pick last season.

Scoles led the Pirates in scoring, assists and free throws. She controlled the game with solid floor play, and was the Bluffton Holiday tournament MVP in November.

Sophomore post Ayla Grandey was voted honorable mention all-league. She led the Pirates in rebounding and was the team's number two scorer.

The Pirate girls finished their season 13-10 overall, and they went 1-7 in NWC play.

Juniors Alyvia Lindeman of Delphos Jefferson and Cali Gregory of Crestview shared NWC Player of the Year honors. Lindeman repeated as POY. Both players were first team all-league picks last season.

Leipsic finished second in the NWC at 7-1, followed by Crestview (6-2). AE, Columbus Grove and Spencerville finished in a three-way tie for fourth at 4-4.
