S'mores, wildflowers, fools and fun at Johnny Appleseed parks
NATURE FOOLS
At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer Nature Fools at the McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Rd. Lima.
Nature fools us often, whether it’s an animal that mimics another or a myth that never went away. See if nature has fooled you and learn what is really going on. Session will primarily be indoors, weather permitting will include a short hike. Register by March 31 by calling 419-221-1232 or go to www.jampd.com.
TRI- MORAINE AUDUBON SOCIETY: FAMILY FUN NIGHT
At 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, the Tri-Moraine Audubon Society will host a Family Fun Night at the Visitor Center at OSU Lima, 3900 Campus Dr., Lima.
Join the Tri-Moraine Audubon Society for this annual Family Fun Night. Several tables of activities will be sponsored by local environmental groups including the Park District.
EXPLORE S’MORE AT KENDRICK WOODS
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will host Explore S’more at Kendrick Woods -Hickory Shelter, 971 N. Defiance Trail Spencerville.
Explore a different park with your family. Interact with others while playing games, hearing stories or singing songs and end the night with s’mores around a fire. Register by April 24 by calling 419-221-1232 or go to www.jampd.com.
WILDFLOWER WALK
At 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30,, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will hold a Wildflower Walk at the Allen County Farm Park, 1582 Slabtown Rd. Lima.
Enjoy the beauty of spring with a walk through the Allen County Farm Park. We’ll head to the back woods to enjoy wildflowers and maybe even songbirds. Be prepared for the weather and possibly wet ground conditions. ACF offers an approximately 1.25-mile easy/moderate trail. Register by April 28 by calling 419-221-1232 or go to www.jampd.com.
