Pirate volleyball takes down Knights

BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton Pirate volleyball team beat tough non-conference rival Van Buren in four sets Thursday night, October 10, to celebrate Senior Night in winning fashion.

The Pirates finished the regular season 19-3 overall after completing the 25-21, 25-10, 20-25, 25-16 victory. It was the 18th win in 20 matches for the Bluffton spikers. 

VB dropped to 16-6 with the defeat.

Kendall Stackhouse hammered 17 kills to pace the Pirate hitting attack.

Celebration of Life for Carl David Liechty

Carl David Liechty, 85, passed away October 9, 2024, at his home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Lima Mennonite Church with Pastor Jeff Boehr to officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Bluffton author Dave Essinger has published a second novel, This World and the Next, now available from Main Street Rag Publishing Company. A reading and book signing are scheduled for October 21 in Findlay.
