Beaver men's golf: four celebrate graduation on the links

FLORENCE, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's golf team put it together with a red-hot 311 on day two of the 2023 Heartland Conference Championship! On the day when Bluffton University celebrated graduation in the Sommer Center, the men's golfer's celebrated with a sparkling round at the Belterra Casino in Florence, Ind.

Leading the way on Saturday, May 6, was the lone underclassman, sophomore Hunter Jolliff (Elida), who fired a 76. Nathan Eberle (Grove City) also picked up the pace on day two, checking in with a 77. Just one stroke back of Eberle was Evan Kujawa (Toledo/Whitmer) who carded a 78.

Dominic Castelvetere (Ontario) followed up his 77 from Friday with an 80, giving him a team-best 157 heading to the final round. Rounding out the Bluffton contingent was Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) who finished with an 82.

All five Beavers are sitting between 157 and 162 with 18 holes to play as Bluffton is currently tied for 3rd (631) with Franklin College. The Beavers earned the right to play in the final wave with HCAC heavyweights Transylvania (606) and Rose-Hulman (614).

Following an outstanding round, the Beavers celebrated graduation on the links with friends and family who made the trip to cheer on the four Bluffton seniors playing their final weekend of collegiate golf.

Bluffton will tee it up for day three from Belterra at 11:20 AM on Sunday, May 7.
