Taber wins regional pole vault crown; boys 3200 relay sets meet record
Pirate boys 4th at regional meet

The Bluffton track and field teams competed very successfully at the Div. III district region 10 meet Wednesday and Friday, May 24 and 26, at Fostoria.
The Pirate boys team finished a strong fourth, tying with Ottawa Hills at 42 points. The Bluffton girls tied for 15th place with Holgate at 12 points.
Pirate senior Brianna Taber finished first in the pole vault by clearing a meet-best 10-8.
The Pirate boys quartet won the 4 x 800 relay race in a meet-record time of 7:57.92.

Columbus Grove won the boys crown with 85 points, far ahead of second-place Tinora (55).
Liberty Center captured the girls team crown with 76.5 points, 10.5 ahead of second-place Margaretta.
Senior Landon Armstrong came home a strong second in the boys 800 meters. Classmate Eden Antrim also crossed the finish line second in the 1600.
Senior Erik Nygaard took fourth in the 3200-meter run.
The Bluffton boys 4 x 400 relay foursome finished third.
Sophomore Carson Kruse came in seventh in the 300 hurdles to miss out on state qualification. Senior Sam Derstine crossed the line sixth in the 800 meters.
Top-four finishers in an event typically qualified for the state meet in Columbus at Ohio State University June 2-3.
The boys 4 x 800 relay race will help kick off the Div. II event Friday, June 2 at 9:45 a.m.
Girls pole vault preliminaries and finals will start at 1 p.m. June 2. The boys 4x400 relay event will be held at 12:30 on June 2.
The 800, 1600 and 3200-meter races will be held Saturday morning, June 3.
