Conrad J. Nuzum was a U.S. Marine

Conrad John Nuzum, age 78, went to be with his Lord on the evening of Saturday, June 10, 2023, with the love of his family surrounding him at home. He was born October 9, 1944, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to Olin D. and Anna (Wilkinson) Nuzum. Later in life, Conrad met Judy Rottmeyer and married on February 22, 2007. 

Conrad was a graduate of Westwood High School. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., serving four years from 1963 to 1967 with two tours in Vietnam. He then went on to work at Findlay Whirlpool for ten years and retired as supervisor from the US Army Tank Plant in Lima after 30 years of service. 

Conrad was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore, Ohio. He was a lifetime member of DAV, VFW, American Legion and a member of the Marine Corp League. He loved working on tractors and was an avid hunter who shared his love of hunting and the outdoors with his grandsons and his passion for travel with his granddaughters. 

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Judy Nuzum; son, Justin Humberger of Fremont; daughters, Renae (Jamie) Beaver of Huntsville, and Christy Nuzum of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Conner Greynolds, Cameron (Brook) Greynolds and Alyssa Follas; sisters, Delores (Daryl) Bushong, and Alfreda Fellwock; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Nuzum. Those waiting for him with open arms are his parents; brothers, Delmer Nuzum, and Olin Nuzum Jr.; sister, Violet Hupp; brother-in-law, Herbert Fellwock Sr.; and sister-in-law, Nina Nuzum. 

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hufford Family Funeral Home, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Conrad’s funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with one hour of visitation (10:00-11:00 a.m.) prior to the service. Pastor Steve Lutz will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran Memorial Squad conducting full military rites.
